English for Teachers

 

The course is intended for non-native speaker instructors who teach English abroad. The student improves her/his own English skills and acquires important knowledge and techniques for assisting future English language students.

The specialist classes are designed to give students a combination of the latest theories in EFL teaching and practical suggestions for the classroom.

English Language for Teachers/GE-15 Combination S-20A

This course consists of 15 hours per week of General English combined with 5 hours of specialist classes in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language.

The course is intended for non-native speaker instructors who teach English to adults. The student improves her/his own English skills and acquires important knowledge and techniques for assisting future English language students.

The specialist classes are designed to give students a combination of the latest theories in EFL teaching and practical suggestions for the classroom. The first specialist class is devoted to a detailed needs analysis of each student.

 

The remainder of the course focuses on the teaching of specific skills, phonology, grammar etc. as well as a range of sessions dealing with topics such as improving classroom dynamics, using technology in the classroom and utilising authentic materials.

 

Please note: there is no teaching practice component in this course.

Required language level: upper intermediate or above 

 

 

 

 

GROUP PRICES (minimum 8 teachers)

 

 

The cost is £ 499 per week (minimum 2 weeks)

 

And it includes: 20 hours if lessons per week as described above, accommodation in single room in family home stays with breakfast and dinner, transfers to and from the airport

 

Single room supplement £ 30 per week

 

The cost of this package for individual teachers (not in a group) is £ 599 per week (minimum 2 weeks)
